Go Thunderbirds!

The whole team and their coaches at Cathy and Paul's home! Many thanks to them and Brent and Kelly for a wonderful dinner!

Great fan support!

Sam and Stephen

Temple Square after the choir broadcast- Zach, Stephen, Kim, Scott, Cathy and Dan

A brisk, but gorgeous morning

This is one of over 70 amazing quilts to be auctioned off for hospital research.

Stephen's team had two games in Salt Lake last weekend and Cathy and Paul, Brent and Kelly generously provided dinner after the first game where they defeated Snow (sorry, dad). The next night they barely lost to SLCC, the defending national champs. Great weekend--being with family, enjoying a full blown snow storm on Saturday, the choir broadcast on Sunday and a wonderful quilt show on Monday.

What a Blessing!

Yesterday Kane received a beautiful blessing from his daddy, Aaron. What a special time for both families to be together and enjoy this new little grandson. He's such a smiler!! Halloween was lots of fun, of course, and the highlight is always seeing the grandkids dressed up. Megan's donuts came in a close second, however! We also got the pictures back yesterday from the photo session that Brooke did for us! It's great to have it done and see how little Kim and I have changed over the years... OK, you can chuckle, but not laugh hysterically!!

How many decades have gone by since these slides have seen the light of day? Not years, but decades?!! I've had a blast scanning a bunch into the computer the last few days, very often laughing out loud and looking around wishing someone was here to share them with besides the doggies! More to come!!

Exercise....

So, Lindsay is taking a Nutrition and Fitness class at Glendale CC and has been trying to motivate me to exercise, especially cardio and since I dislike sweating, we decided that it would have to be something fun at which point I confessed a secret dream to learn how to tap dance. Is it REALLY never too late? We'll see...maybe. There's probably still sweating involved. Click HERE to watch the pros!

Wade's Baptism!

We're so proud of Wade for choosing to be baptized last Saturday and we all loved being together for his special day. Lots of people love you, Wade!! During our after-baptism swim/pizza party, I noticed my four sweet sons on the couch and couldn't resist squeezing in for a photo. Bonus- Baby Kane :)

Evergreen Ward Campout

Since we've run out of willing children, we borrowed some grandsons to go with us to our ward campout! It's held at Camp Lomia (girls' camp) in the beautiful pine forest just north of Payson. We always have a good time with our wonderful and crazy ward and I'm glad we got to share it with Brock, Jake, Wade and Wyatt this year. Thanks for hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa!

Happy, Happy Birthday Children Dear

We were a month late celebrating our July birthdays this year because everyone was out of town at different times, but they finally blew out their candles last night. Happy birthday to Kelli(29:), Caisa(7), Wade(8) and Max(3)! We had 30 here for dinner, counting Kane, who is our latest July birthday. He was snoozing peacefully so we didn't want to disturb him. He's up to 9 lbs plus now! Yesterday also just happened to be our 37th anniversary! Love you, sweetie!

Pres. Harold B. Lee's Quote on America

"Men may fail in this country, earthquakes may come, seas may heave beyond their bounds, there may be great drought, disaster, and hardship, but this nation, founded on principles laid down by men whom God raised up, will never fail. This is the cradle of humanity, where life on this earth began in the Garden of Eden. This is the place of the new Jerusalem. This is the place that the Lord said is favored above all other nations in all the world. This is the place where the Savior will come to His temple. This is the favored land in all the world. Yes, I repeat, men may fail, but this nation won't fail. I have faith in America; you and I must have faith in America, if we understand the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are living in a day when we must pay heed to these challenges. I plead with you not to preach pessimism. Preach that this is the greatest country in all the world. This is the favored land. This is the land of our forefathers. It is the nation that will stand despite whatever trials or crises it may yet have to pass through.“ (Ye Are the Light of the World, 350-51)
AMEN TO THAT!!

How To Survive Summer

With temperatures still toasty, the best way to spend an afternoon is swimming and eating pizza on the patio. I must say there is definitely a difference between 115 and 105 because today we non-swimmers were able to sit in the shade and enjoy all the fun without jumping in with our clothes on! Click HERE for video.

Kane Aaron Rogers

After two days in the special care unit to make sure all the fluid was out of his lungs, he was able to come home and besides the typical sleep all day instead of all night routine, he's doing great! Hopefully, we'll get to see the whites of his eyes soon :)

Little Brother's Here!!!

Aaron and Aimee's little son arrived around 7 pm tonight! He weighed 8 lbs. 14 oz and was 21" long with tons of black hair! Grandpa Kim says he gets credit for the hair, believe it or not:) Aimee said she feels fine and all the big sisters were smitten right away. Aaron looked VERY happy, too. We're so grateful he's here safe and sound!

Grandpa's Home!

After a little more than a week of great care at Coral Desert Rehab, dad decided he WAS coming home so Mark picked him up in his nice truck and mom and I followed them up the hill. If there ever was a reason to stay healthy, it's the view from up there especially when a storm's brewing! Just gorgeous!! It was great to see dad walking around with the walker and getting his appetite back a little. Mom's a great nurse for sure. Happy birthday to you, mom!! 84 years young. We love you both! After returning home, my first dip in a pool was on Lindsay and Morgan's patio. It was very refreshing and fun to be with them on a hot day in Az.

Cindy in a slot!

Fearless leaders

Grandpa Stephenson received a brand new hip on July 10th! As soon as the medication wore off a little he was asking what he had to do to go home, so that's a good sign. He's getting stronger every day and will see the doctor tomorrow so, hopefully, he can come home in a few days. Last week, Cindy took me on an early morning hike into the slot canyon area with her group from the spa. What gorgeous scenery and views!! My big toes are sore, but it was sooo worth it! Cindy is great inspiration for getting in shape...she made it look so easy!

CRITTERS!!

We sure enjoyed being in Payson last weekend for the 4th. The weather was beautiful and the critters plentiful! Besides the elk showing up every evening, the kids (and big "kids") found frogs, tadpoles, snakes, snails, bats, butterflies, spiders, mice, etc. Paradise! And, of course, smores are always dessert in paradise, burnt or not! Try them with cinnamon grahams...YUMMY!
